Chinese PTMEG Update

PUdaily, Shanghai-In September 2016, according to PUdaily im & export data, China exports of Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol (PTMEG for short) under the HS code of 39072010 were 1,503 tons, posting an increase of 113.42% compared with 704 tons of the same period in 2015 while a decrease of 21.46% from 1,914 tons in August. From January to September, China PTMEG export totaled up to about 9,613 tons, up by 40.72% tons with the same period in 2015. The exports data please refer to below graph.

From the below graph, we can see that main export destinations were Vietnam, South Korea, Bangladesh and so on. Compared with last year, China has experienced the growth overall in PTMEG exports. Main exporters were Hyosung, Sanwei, Sanlong and so on. Hyosung was the main export supplier, whose volume ranked the first.

In September 2016, according to PUdaily im & export data, China imports of PTMEG were 4,499 tons, posting a decrease of 34.22% compared with 6,839 tons of the same period in 2015 while an increase of 9.89% from 4,094 tons in August. From January to September, China PTMEG import totaled up to about 37,124 tons, down by 39.41% tons with the same period in 2015. From the below graph, we can see that main import origins were Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Germany, America and so on. Among these regions, Taiwan has been the biggest source region from which Chinese Mainland imported PTMEG, with the import from Taiwan making up 86.31% of the September import.
