Benzene prices in Asia slip

On 10 October 2017 at 11:00 IST

Benzene prices in Asia drifted lower on Monday. The price drop was a result of dull buying sentiments in key markets like China coupled with a sharp fall in downstream SM rates.

Bearish upstream energy values last Friday further supported the price drop.

FOB Korea prices of benzene were assessed down at the USD 765/mt levels, a decline of USD 15/mt from last Friday’s assessed levels.

Downstream SM prices were assessed lower at the USD 1175/mt on FOB Korea levels, a slide of USD 40/mt from last Friday.

Meanwhile, in the US, prices of benzene last Friday were at the 262.950 cents/gallon FOB US Gulf mark, a fall of 3.95 cents/gallon from last Friday.
