Propylene prices witnessed a sharp rise in Asia on Tuesday. Prices firmed mainly on account of bullish upstream crude and naphtha rates.

Reports of limited product availability further supported the price rise.

FOB Korea prices of propylene were assessed up at the USD 790/mt levels, a day on day rise of USD 15/mt.

CFR China prices were assessed higher at the USD 840/mt levels, a gain of USD 15/mt from Monday’s assessed levels.

In plant news, PetroRabigh has taken off-stream its 1.6 mmt/year cracker, located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, on November 10, 2016 for a maintenance turnaround. The planned maintenance is expected to remain in force for around 20-22 days.
