BASF Exploring Rival Bid for DuPont (DD) – Bloomberg
BASF is exploring a rival bid for DuPont (NYSE: DD), according to Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter. BASF is said to be working with advisers and banks to examine a possible bid, the report said.
In mid-December, DuPont and The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced that their boards of directors unanimously approved a definitive agreement under which the companies will combine in an all-stock merger of equals.
The DuPont-Dow merger transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2016.
