Polyurethane Foam Association Presents Free Introduction To Flexible Polyurethane Foam Industry At May Meeting

May 24 Session Offers Important Background Information For Industry Newcomers, Seasoned Veterans, And Those Interested In Learning More About The Flexible Foam Business

 

LOUDON, TN (May 2, 2016)—The Polyurethane Foam Association (PFA) is offering a free program in advance of its annual May meeting that is ideal for anyone considering the flexible polyurethane foam industry as a career.

An Introduction To The Flexible Polyurethane Foam Industry is a brand-new industry development program created by PFA member companies and designed to provide an overview on foam chemistry, processing, physical testing, production technology, and value-added benefits in many end-use applications.

For those new to the industry, the program offers an inside look at this innovative, far-reaching field that favors an entrepreneurial spirit. For seasoned industry veterans, it is an excellent refresher on fundamentals.

The session will take place at the Renaissance Vinoy in St. Petersburg, FL on Tuesday, May 24, from 1-5 pm. Presenters include:

  • John Hayes, Covestro: “Foam Chemistry”
  • Chris Thiede, Dow Polyurethanes: “Applications and Value-Added Benefits”
  • Amanda Kelmer, BASF: “Process Technology, Safety, Standards & Testing

The program is free of charge and is funded by industry suppliers. Seating is limited so please register as soon as possible. Register at www.pfa.org/training.

While the Introduction to the Flexible Polyurethane Foam Industry session is offered at no charge, separate paid registration is required to attend the PFA annual meeting sessions, including the industry reception, scheduled for May 25-26.  For those wanting to stay at the hotel for either meeting, The Renaissance Vinoy has a limited number of rooms available. The Polyurethane Foam Association is a trade association founded in 1980 to educate

customers and other groups about flexible polyurethane foam (FPF). This includes providing facts on environmental, health and safety issues and technical information on the performance of FPF in consumer and industrial products. FPF is used as a key comfort component in most upholstered furniture and mattress products, along with automotive seating, medical devices, and numerous other applications.
