America’s manufacturers are enjoying robust growth in 2018 as factory orders continue to grow, jobs continue to be created and manufacturing activity continues to expand at a historic rate.

The latest example of the industry’s growth comes from Indiana-based Jasper Group. The furniture manufacturer has started renovating a new 1.2 million square-foot facility in Orleans, Indiana, and plans to create 300 new manufacturing jobs:

Renovations are already underway at Jasper Group’s newly acquired 1.2 million square-foot facility as the company announces plans to expand its furniture manufacturing operations and create more than 300 new jobs by 2021.

Updates to the Orleans, Indiana, facility include new manufacturing equipment and upgrading the IT infrastructure. The company has already begun producing laminate casegoods and tables at the location and said it plans to expand the production capabilities to include upholstered products and veneer casegoods and tables. The facility, which also serves a warehouse and shipping hub, marks the company’s seventh manufacturing site and will be its largest operations center.

Companies like Jasper are joining manufacturers across the country who have been creating jobs at an incredible pace. The U.S. economy had 12.6 million manufacturing jobs in February, the highest level since 2008. Furthermore, there were 427,000 manufacturing job postings in January, only the fifth time since 2000 that the number has surpassed 400,000.
