Specialty chemicals and materials producer Solvay recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of an expansion project at its Greenville, TX aerospace composites manufacturing plant that will boost the site’s resin mixing capacity, the company announced in a July 25 press release.

“Greenville, TX is a strategic site for Solvay where in recent years we have invested several million dollars in capacity and modernization resulting in double digit growth. This new expansion will enable us to further meet the growing demand for Solvay’s market leading Out-of-Autoclave technologies,” Solvay Composite Materials Executive Vice President of Global Operations Tracy Price said in a statement.

Solvay said it initiated the expansion plan in response to growing demand from commercial and military aerospace customers. The site currently has a headcount of 300 full time workers.

The Texas plant produces resins, including epoxy, phenolic, bismaleimide, and polyamides, prepregs, and woven fabrics, the company’s website said.
