FRANKFURT–Germany's BASF SE said Wednesday its supervisory board has extended the appointment of Chief Executive Kurt Bock and three other board members by five years.

Mr. Bock, whose appointment would have run out in 2016, is set to remain in his position until the end of the annual shareholders' meeting in 2021.

The company's supervisory board also extended the appointments of Martin Brudermueller, vice chairman of the board of executive directors, Chief Financial Officer Hans-Ulrich Engel and Harald Schwager, member of the board of executive directors, by five years.

The German chemical company is set to report second-quarter earnings on Friday.
